Hi Paul,
Thanks for doing the map, that's great. I don't know much about the Northern area's so it's good to see what's there.

Hi all.
I have just put together a Google map of a short ride along the Gawler rail corridor.
It is a combination of vehicle access track and single track.
It is only about 5km each way and rather simple, but its fun when you need something more than the road can offer.
Enjoy,
Paul.
Hi Mij,
I certainly wouldn't recommend Callington if you want some cross country downhill, it's very flat and sandy up there. Also you need a local to show you around there otherwise you'll be disappointed.
Sorry to hear you didn't like Fox, sounds like you might have used the official map of the area. It tends to send you along fire road or onto full on downhill. But there is some other great cross country up there, but sounds like you might have missed that.
My best tip would be to join the Adelaide Mountain Bike Club forum and post you question up there, you'll get plenty of responses and maybe also find like minded people to hook up with. They're a pretty good bunch on the forum and always keen to help out.
Hi
Great site - it needs more publicity !
We are new to Mountain biking and still building up our fitness. We are 3 dads aged 44, 47 , 45 and 3 boys all aged 12.
We love it and have a window now where we can ride every weekend until October.
We are looking for a longer ride - mostly downhill because we are all still getting bike fit . It could have a few uphill sections but not many .
We are very comfortabel on "blue" tracks and have also done a couple of black but find them a bit challenging still. We didn't really enjoy Fox because you seem to either be riding on a fire access road or plumetting over riocks and drop offs that make your toes curl.
Any recommendations?
I see the Callington Ride - perhaps we could do the first half of that?
Where is the longest downhill ride in and around Adelaide ?
Cheers - any help would be much appreciated
Hey Clinster,
Yeah that's cool, link away. :-)
I tried the link above but it didn't work, is it right?
I'll try again later, maybe it's just a server bug.

Hi Clinster here or Superlight on the amtbc forums.
Hope you dont mind i have linked your site from my site.
Rough hand sketched map of Prospect Hill XC trails added.
Added Callington and Foxy1000 topo maps, from Endo's flickr album.
Profile and GPS data for Mawson trail climb from Castambul to Fox Creek XC trails.
Hi Buttso Endo,
That's a good idea, I've just been throwing the raw google earth data up, will have a look at putting some markers in. Still learning this google earth stuff. :-)
Burping Squidie
Hey there Burping Squid — I've not downloaded your trails yet, but from a quick squiz at the image caps (ie callie epic) it'd be helpful to add an annotation to indicate the start of the trail and the direction of travel.
-buttso doing an endo-
Added some GPS info from a 2008 foxy1000 planning ride. Just bare bones data so don't expect anything fancy.
Thanks dude. :-)
Get the word out there about this site!!
Some cool photo's of Eagle Park from a recent social ride (just a bunch of silly old goats if you ask me :)
Just testing.
